AND IT DON’T STOP

June 18th, 2009

last weekend was an enormous success, thank you everybody who attended either of the two festivals, and a special thank you to everyone who helped run them.

WE WON!!!!!
at Come Out & Play, we won “Most Original Sport” and “Best In Festival”!!! they want us back next year to play an even bigger all day series of games! We certainly couldn’t have done it without the help of the wonderful Nebekah Youth Corps marching band! Give thanks to them.

Figment was also a rousing success, with beautiful weather and 3 wonderful games. We also played Mega Soccer with the Institute of Aesthletics.

on Tuesday, Shock and Awe squeezed out an incredible victory over The Flying Mordecais in the last 10 seconds of stoppage time, with a final score of 10-9.

WHAT’S NEXT you may ask?
I’ll tell you!

TV Globo, the largest broadcaster in South America, is going to be taping a piece for their hit show Fantastico! in which the Brazilian band Skank will come out to NYC and play Circle Rules with Brooklyn’s very own. So if you want to make it big in Rio, play in our Special Match next Friday 6/26, at a location and time T.B.A.
Oi, Brazil!!!

League play continues on Monday 6/22 with the Slow Polks facing Flying Mordecais in Prospect Park at 7pm.

Two Exciting Festivals This Weekend!

June 8th, 2009

this weekend, we are presenting circle rules football to the world in two exciting festivals taking place in New York City over the weekend. For both festivals, we will be pulling out all the stops, with mascots, play by play commentators, and a high school MARCHING BAND!!!! get pumped. this is going to be big.

1)Come Out and Play NYC, a street games festival hosted by the Tank will feature Circle Rules Football on Saturday the 13th, from 4-6pm in Central Park at Heckscher Field. To all of you who have wanted so bad to play, but haven’t been able to make our Sunday matches, or had some other interesting excuse, this is your game.

2)Figment NYC, an arts organization, will be hosting an exhibition in Governor’s Island all weekend, and while the field will be set up for visitors from Friday onwards, we will be arriving Sunday around 12:00 noon to play several games with plenty of theatrics!

In other news, we continue League Play this week with the Slow Polks facing Real Shock and Awe on wednesday at 7pm in the Long Meadow of Prospect Park.

The undefeated Flying Mordecais have this one off.

See you there,
Commissioner Greg
